Catamaran Charter in the Exumas, Bahamas
HERE IS A SAMPLE ITINERARY TO WET YOUR APPETITE:
EVERYTHING is weather permitting and plans can be adjusted daily as needed, but these are the places we intend to take you. Ready, set, GO!
DAY ONE, Jan 3:
Board the yacht at 10AM. Cabins assigned, provisions brought onboard and put away, boat briefing and check out, safety briefing, and the intention is to take off by 1PM. Sail to Allen's Cay, next to Leaf Cay and SW Allans, where there are iguana trails and good hikes, And of course you'll want to jump in and go snorkeling in the most beautiful water you've ever seen!
DAY TWO, Jan 4: Warderick Wells - Enjoy the beaches, hiking trails, and visit the park headquarters to learn more about the ecosystem. Snorkel in the crystal clear waters.
DAY THREE, Jan 5: Staniel Cay - Check out the famous Thunderball Grotto, featured an a 007 movie, see too many nurse sharks at the fish cleaning station (from land), and check out the tiny yacht club with loads of history and ambiance. We'll also stop at the Pig Beach, located on Major Cay.
DAY FOUR, Jan 6: - Rudder Cut Cay - snorkel to the mermaid (playing the piano) statue commissioned by the magician David Copperfield.
DAY FIVE, Jan 7: Georgetown, Great Exuma Island - We'll anchor off Stocking Island, next to Georgetown, which hosts a vibrant cruising community and always has fun activities for cruisers including feeding conch to rays. There's a reason so many cruisers make this their destination every winter, year after year.
DAY SIX, Jan 8: Reserved for adjusting to weather, possibly stay to explore more.
DAY SEVEN/EIGHT, Jan 9, 10: Start our sail back north and choose an island half way to break up the trip and explore more. Let's catch some dinner! You'll need a fishing license which can be obtained online through the Bahamian Government or the Department of Marine Resources. Fishing gear is not included but can be obtained in Nassau. Or bring your own.
DAY NINE and TEN, Jan 11,12: Keep sailing north to cover the miles back to Nassau. We will choose islands that work with our schedule and the weather.
January 13th: Disembark by 10AM.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Large Luxury 50' Catamaran
Dinghy - outboard engine, oars, anchor
Professional Captain - Professional knowledge for a safe, delightful cruise. We've cruised this island chain with our own 47' catamaran and love this area. It's tricky but well worth it. The charter companies require licenses galore for bareboat charters and both Eric and I have them, plus our decades of experience.
Fuel for the yacht and dinghy
Food and Provisioning: Done with thoughtful care and planning, fresh fruits, vegetables, and all sorts of delicious ingredients will be provided and replenished as needed to make delicious healthy meals. Most guests bring chocolate, dried fruit, nuts, and other goodies to share on the trip. As long as you don't pack fresh things like fresh fruits and veggies you'll be fine. There will be snacks onboard, but for some people it's fun to bring goodies and share with the group. No more room in your suitcase? No worries! There will be food aplenty.
Meals Onboard - Guests will take turns cooking and cleaning. Every good meal starts with fresh and delicious ingredients and a plan. I've been cheffing on boats long enough to know how to share good and simple recipes. A food form will be sent to find out preferences, food allergies if any, and any special requests can be submitted at that time. Not into cooking? It's OK, you can help by setting the table, making cocktails, or doing dishes. We will be a tribe and work together to break bread.
Water - for drinking and showers
WiFi - We will bring our Starlink.
Linens/Towels - Two sets of towels/pp and one set of sheets.
Hull/Dinghy Damage Deposit
